Today was much better. I took it easy on the standing series like Nancy said, which I didn't want to do to the extent of what I did but I think that in the end it was a wiser choice because I got through the entire floor series which was the goal.
Must slowly build the strength... Balancing poses are hard. Must learn to lock the knees...

Challenge Day 4
Complete.
Yesterday was rough. I had to leave class for the first time since I started the practice. I felt like I wasn't cooling down and no matter what I was doing I couldn't get my arms to rest... I missed most of the the floor series :(
Nancy, the teacher, told me that it's completely normal and sometimes we push ourselves too much in the standing series where really the "meat and potatoes" of the class is the floor series and to take it easier on the standing series next time.

Challenge Day 3
Complete.
Camel was really hard today although I made sure to eat a good 2 hours before the class at least. Maybe it was the food, maybe it wasn't the day for camel. I did full prayer position on both legs during Tree today! Only during the second set though :/ That's ok, next time!
At the final Savasana, I started crying. It was good though. I knew Day 3 would be hard. Tomorrow would be harder and I think after that I would start getting the hang of it. Til tomorrow! Namaste.

Had to sit out a couple of the balancing poses but I got both my hands at prayer position for the second set of Tree Pose today!
The people at the studio are so cute! Apparently about 30 people are participating in the Challenge. They printed each of us a calendar and as we complete the days we get a sticker :) Pretty elementary school but cute nonetheless!

For the first time I was able to bring both my hands up in prayer position during the tree pose! But only for one leg. The goal for today - both legs.
Unfortunately it was so hot in the room I ended up sitting out a couple of poses I haven't had to before, but that's ok - next time!

Bikram Yoga - 30 Day Challenge
Ok. This is mostly for me, but for whoever else is interested... I'm going to do the Bikram Yoga 30-day Challenge at the place I go to starting on Saturday 1/15.
It will be a class a day for 30 days. My goal is to complete these 30 days and not drop in the middle, unless I physically cannot do it, ONLY if my knees are involved. None of that "oh I don't feel like it today" BS.
Starting tomorrow and for the upcoming week I will prepare by going back to Yoga class (hopefully get 2-3 in there before Saturday) so that I will be in less of a shock (my last yoga class was in mid-december before I went on vacation and had my wisdom teeth out so it's been about 3 weeks).
There won't really be much info in there other than an entry saying "Day 1 - done" or something and maybe a little blurb about how I feel after class. This is going to be tricky because of work, dance, class so I'll have to really be diligent, especially on days I have class since it's off-campus.
